Church Creek, MD Romie Q. Robinson, Sr. Romie Quinn Robinson, Sr. age 83, died Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge. Born in Toddville, MD, he was the son of the late Wilbur Royston Robinson and Nina Eloise Robinson. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy Rebecca Foxwell Robinson. He was preceded in death by his son Romie Quinn Robinson II in 2000. He is survived by his brothers; Robert H Robinson, Sr. and his wife Kaye, William C. Robinson and his wife NormaLee, Charles L. Robinson and sister Beverly Ann Robinson, all of Cambridge, MD, and numerous nieces and nephews Mr. Robinson had worked for many years as a waterman and a painter. He was an Army Veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a member of Whitehaven United Methodist Church, life member of the Church Creek Volunteer Fire Co., life member of the American Legion Post # 91, and life member of the VFW Post 7460. He served as Mayor of Church Creek, and served as a councilman on the Church Creek town council. He was also a member of the Maryland Classified Employees Association, and the NCO Academy 1952-Germany. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Old Trinity Churchyard in Church Creek, MD. Rev. Dr. Robert Kirkley will officiate. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in his memory to: Church Creek Volunteer Fire Co. , 1902 Church Creek Rd., Church Creek, MD. 21622, or to Whitehaven United Methodist Church, 1920 Church Creek Rd. Church Creek MD 21622. Arrangements are in the care of the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.
